Judes Community Based Organization ("Judes CBO", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

1. Who we are

Judes CBO is a community-based organization registered in Homa Bay County, Kenya, based in Oyugis Town. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us:

• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic you choose and your message.
• Newsletter: your email address.
• Donations: when you donate via M-Pesa, Safaricom shares the sender's name, phone number, amount and transaction code with us as part of the payment. If you message us on WhatsApp to confirm a gift, we also receive what you include in that message.
• WhatsApp, phone and email: whatever you share with us when you contact us directly.

We do not ask for sensitive information through this website. Please don't include health, legal or other sensitive details in the contact form. If you need support, call us or one of the helplines listed on our contact page.

3. How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiries and requests.
• To send you our newsletter and updates, if you subscribed.
• To record, confirm and thank you for donations, and to keep accurate financial records.
• To coordinate volunteering and partnerships you've asked about.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

4. Third-party services

This website uses trusted third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Formspree receives and delivers messages from our contact and newsletter forms.
• Safaricom M-Pesa processes donations. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN.
• WhatsApp handles chats you start with us.
• Google Maps shows the map on our contact page.
• Google Fonts and cdnjs deliver the fonts and icons used on this site. Like any website, they may see your IP address when your browser loads these files.
• GitHub Pages hosts this website.

5. Cookies

We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking. Embedded services such as Google Maps may set their own cookies when you view them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

To learn which pages are useful, we count visits to our website (for example which pages are opened, the type of device and the website that sent you). This doesn't use cookies, and we don't store your IP address or anything that identifies you.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep messages for as long as needed to respond and follow up. Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe. Donation records are kept for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to the people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

8. Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• be informed about how your data is used;
• access the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct or delete your information;
• object to or withdraw consent for its use, including unsubscribing from our newsletter at any time.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information online. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
